Grandma & Grandpa return, more planning

Grandma and Grandpa Ferrante visited us this evening back from Japan on Tuesday. Recovering nicely from their adventure in the "Land of the Rising Sun". They took several tours of Tokyo and Grandpa did an overnight trip (Grandma was under the weather for a couple of days). They picked-up Shadow and Como (our doggy friends) in preparation for our departure on Saturday.

Michael has planned for "The Men" to visit an Onsen, which is a Japanese thermal bath. Japan is a chain of active volcanic islands and there are supposedly more than 20,000 thermals in Japan. Onsens range from the simple circle of rocks around a thermal in someones back yard, or near the Ocean, to elaborate structures with multiple rooms built on or near he thermal. The mineral content of the thermals varies by location, with each having different healing and relaxation properties. Some are outdoor and some are indoor, some mix with cooler water and some are "Scalding" hot! Most are gender segregated, which is good, as you bathe naked. Should be fun, as I really enjoy a good hot-tub soaking.

Did some research on Golf, which is quite expensive (about $125 per round) and restricted. I understand that some courses welcome foreigners while others do not.....From the pictures posted on the web, it appears that the courses are quite beautiful and should be "greening" up as spring has sprung in Japan as it is here in Michigan (hopefully better than MI as we are receiving snow right now!)
